The Caltech Group Celebrates 25 Years in Timor-Leste
On Saturday, 27 September 2025, the Caltech Group proudly celebrated its 25th business anniversary.
Founded in 2000 by Timorese Owner Sheilla de Caldas and co-founder Jean Vezina, the Caltech Group is one of the first modern businesses established in Timor-Leste. From its early beginnings, the company has grown steadily over the past quarter of a century to become a multifaceted group with seven divisions: Construction, Environmental, Development, Services, Marine, Agriculture, and Hospitality.
In addition to its core business operations, the Caltech Group has also established and manages several businesses in Dili, including Venture Hotel, Aubergine Beachfront Bar & Bistro, and Circul-R.
Central to their success in operating in Timor-Leste over this period has been a set of guiding values that shape the company’s culture and decisions:

To mark this milestone, the company hosted a celebration dedicated to the staff whose commitment and hard work have been integral to its success.
Honouring those who have been with Caltech for 10-25, years, long term staff were proudly presented certificates and gifts as a token of Caltech’s gratitude for the loyalty and dedication over the years

The evening also featured heartfelt speeches, delicious food and drinks, and plenty of dancing all creating an atmosphere of joy, gratitude, and camaraderie.
More than just a party, the event was a moment to reflect on 25 years of excellence, teamwork, and innovation a legacy built on values that continue to guide the Caltech Group as it looks to the future.
